WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT? FENG SHUI, THAT IS!
In case you are unfamiliar with feng shui (meaning wind and water), it is the ancient Chinese art of creating a happy and harmonious atmosphere by the placement of articles within a space (home or office). By using feng shui practices, you can increase the flow of energy (chi) in all areas of your life, including your relationships and love life!
One concept of feng shui, which naturally fits into my organizing business, is that you must de-clutter, simplify and organize everything, as too much stuff clogs your life, including your love life! Only keep the things that you really love, including relationships, as it will drain your chi (energy) to keep them, and it will revitalize your life to clear them out.
Also, make your home an inviting place where people want to visit, and where love can flourish. Remember, all spaces count, including the attic, the garage, and the basement. Be sure to balance your environments with yin (feminine) and yang (masculine) décor as too much of one may deter the opposite sex, or make them feel unwelcome.
Many feng shui practitioners use a map, or bagua, to locate where certain energy areas, or ‘guas’, reside in your home. Your relationship, or love life ‘gua’ is the northeast corner from your front entrance (or the rear right of the home). To enhance, or improve your love life, use the colors red, pink or white (Valentine colors) in that corner of your house. Also, include in this area chi enhancements, such as sensual sounds, fresh flowers, and candles. If you are single and seeking a mate, place paired items in this area (like two candles and photos of couples) to symbolize partnership (get rid of the ‘single’ items, as they symbolize being alone) and be sure to add something red hot (folding fans or flowers) to incite passion! If you are already in a relationship, you can also use these techniques to spice up your love life! It really does work!!
